Car-seat setup checklist
- Sit with your hips all the way back in the seat
- Raise the seat so your hips are level with or slightly above your knees
- Bring the seat close enough that your knees stay slightly bent at full pedal
- Use a small lumbar roll if the seat is flat
- Set the headrest so its middle is level with your ears
Neck pain when checking blind spots
If you can’t turn your head far enough to check a blind spot safely, don’t drive. Adjust your mirrors before you leave and give yourself extra time. Tell us at your exam how driving feels; it helps us understand your range of motion.
Breaking up long drives
When you can, stop every hour or so to stand and move. Even a minute or two helps many people. On a short commute, a few shoulder rolls at a long light are fine; keep your attention on the road.
