Pain that travels into a leg
Back pain that runs into the buttock or down the leg, or comes with tingling, deserves a careful look. New weakness, numbness in the groin area, or bladder or bowel changes need emergency care right away.
Lifting while you’re sore
- Hold loads close to your body and avoid twisting while lifting
- Ask for help with heavy or awkward items
- Take short movement breaks instead of long static holds
- Stop and report any sharp or radiating pain

Questions we hear from Garland patients
When can I go back to lifting at work?
That depends on your exam and how your back responds. We will discuss it with you; we don’t make one-size-fits-all predictions.
Is numbness in my leg normal?
It should be checked. New weakness or numbness in the groin area, or bladder or bowel changes, need the ER right away.
Are you open on Saturdays?
No. Our clinic hours are Mon–Fri, 9 AM – 5 PM; we are closed Saturday and Sunday.
Is there a Garland office?
No. Patients from this area are seen at our Richardson clinic. Our second clinic is in Arlington.
